Alternative Prosperity Private Equity Fund – Fairtree Empowerment Fund I
The Fairtree Empowerment Fund I is a black owned private equity fund, focused primarily on unlisted private equity investments, predominantly in South Africa. The objective of the fund is to mobilise capital for sustainable and transformative change. The investment strategy is to partner with well-established ethically minded and values-driven companies and BEE groups as well as invest in high growth businesses with an excellent track record and a clear strategy to grow profits in a sustainable and responsible way. All investments by the fund are regarded as 100% black under the new amended Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) codes.
The Fairtree Fund is managed by Fairtree Impact Capital, a joint venture between Fairtree Capital and Alternative Prosperity. The majority of the shareholders of Fairtree Impact Capital are previously disadvantaged black shareholders.
